A Vision Shaped by Experience

Tellabio was born from the journey of Dr. Efren Mendez Castilla — a physician and research professional who has experienced every side of clinical research. Over more than a decade, he has served as a CRC, CRA, CTM, Medical Monitor, and now Research Director.
His mission was clear: create a research environment rooted in warmth, trust, and excellence, where participants feel cared for and Sponsors/CROs experience unmatched professionalism.

A Career Built on Every Corner of Clinical Research

CRC
where care and data first met
Dr. Mendez began his research career at the frontline—working directly with participants, conducting visits, and ensuring every detail was collected with accuracy and compassion. This experience shaped his belief that research is fundamentally about people, not protocols.
CRA
understanding sites from the inside out
As a CRA, he observed dozens of research facilities across different therapeutic areas. This role revealed what worked, what didn’t, and what true operational excellence should look like—lessons that heavily influence Tellabio’s site standards today.
CTM
mastering the art of study oversight
Managing clinical trials elevated his understanding of timelines, deliverables, budgets, and the complex coordination required to run a study. It laid the foundation for Tellabio’s efficient, Sponsor-centric operational model.
Medical Monitor
ensuring safety and scientific integrity
Serving as Medical Monitor sharpened his expertise in medical review, safety oversight, and scientific evaluation. This step strengthened his commitment to ethical, participant-centered care—core to Tellabio’s identity.
Research Director
bringing a new vision to life
With experience across every major research role, Dr. Mendez founded Tellabio to unify all the best parts of clinical research: compassionate patient care, operational precision, and Sponsor-focused excellence. This is the foundation of the SMO+ model now growing across Florida, LATAM, and Spain.

Tellabio’s story began not in our own facility, but in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where we partnered with a trusted physician to conduct our earliest clinical research work. This collaboration helped shape our identity — grounded in community, medical integrity, and a sincere respect for every participant who chooses research as part of their healthcare journey.
As our vision expanded, so did our need for a home built with intention.
That home became our Headquarters in Doral, Florida — the first space fully designed, owned, and operated by Tellabio.
From the beginning, we imagined more than a research site. We created a place where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely cared for the moment they walk in. A place that combines scientific rigor with an atmosphere of calm, elegance, and personalized attention — the kind of experience that makes participants feel valued and supported at every step, without ever needing to name it or compare it to anything.
